Visit Coorg


Coorg (Kodagu) is also famous as 'The Land of river Cauvery'. It is a mountainous district in South India. It is located at a height of 3,500 mts above sea level.It is well known for its hospitality and scenic beauty. Madikeri is the capital of coorg. As-soon-as you enter here, you are welcomed by rich aromas and amazing landscape. 




The nearest railway station to Coorg is Mysore. But, people generally prefer coming to Coorg by either a bus or renting a cab.

Main attractions in Coorg are: 

1) Abbey falls

2) Mallalli falls

3) Irupu falls

4) Nagarahole Wildlife Sanctuary

5) Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary

6) Dubare Elephant Camp, Honnamana Kere (holy place) 

7) Namdroling Nyingmapa Tibetan Monastery

8) Raja's seat



The most picturesque view is of Coffee Plantations. Coorg region contributes about 60% of India's coffee plantations. Also, orange groves, pepper and cardamom plants adorn the hills.



Tadiandamol is the highest mountain in Coorg and the second highest in Karnataka. It is located in the Western ghats range.


Coorg is famously called the 'Scotland of India' and 'Kashmir of South India'. It measures 96 kms in length and 64 kms in breadth. The area of Coorg is 4,102 sq. kms.
