Bangalore - The Airconditioned City of India

Bangalore has been my home since last 10 years... and truly deserves a place to be in the list of my favourite places to visit in India. Apart from it being the first IT hub, the first choice among career-oriented young professionals in India and most popular for its airconditioned weather, bangalore (or 'bengaluru') also provides ample reasons to visit it during your holidays, if you are not a resident already.

Bangalore is located in southern India on the Deccan Plateau and is the capital of Karnataka state. It is located at an elevation of 3,000 ft approximately above sea level and is the highest among all the other major Indian cities. This is the reason why Bangalore has a pleasant weather throughout the year. The city is also famous as the 'Silicon Valley of India' for being a major contributor as a provider of Information Technology (IT) jobs and also as the country's leading exporter of Information Technology (IT) services. Thus, Bangalore is one among the major cities to contribute heavily to India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Attractions:

Apart from being a software hub, Bangalore is a famous destination on the tourist map as well. The major places of attraction in Bangalore are:

a) Central Business District (CBD) comprising of MG Road, Brigade Road, Commercial street etc.

b) Lal Bagh Botanical Garden

c) Cubbon Park

d) Tipu Sultan's summer palace

e) Mayo hall

f) Vidhan Soudha

g) Karnataka High Court

p) Bannerghatta National Park

q) Bull Temple

r) ISKCON temple

S) Christ Church

t) St. Mary's Basilica

u) Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha

Due to its beautiful weather, young crowd, job opportunities and cosmopolitan culture, Bangalore has earned various names for itself like airconditioned city, Pub capital of India, Silicon valley of India, Garden City etc. Earlier, Bangalore was also known as the Pensioners' Paradise, which unfortunately is a thing of the past now.

Weather: As mentioned above, Bangalore has a pleasant climate throughout the year so that way, bangalore is tourist friendly throughout.
